Ocean Jaspers are a rare variety of Jaspers that come from one particular location along the north eastern coast of Madagascar. They are only visible during low tide and can only be hand mined during this short time period. As such, it’s a challenging process to mine these and mining operations have since been halted due to safety risks and depletion of the stone.
